Personal Transactions and Litigation
Representation of parties in personal disputes and matters with family members over substantial assets that arise in matrimonial, estate, and business contexts.
I have experience in representing parties in intra-family disputes over substantial assets that can arise in matrimonial, estate, and business contexts, as well as in connection with contested estates.
Practicing with a substantial law firm for many years has provided me with the tools to resolve these personal disputes. Now that I am in a smaller law office, I can do so at a substantially lower cost to the client.
Among my recent engagements within the family dimension are the following:
- Disagreements between husband and wife concerning the ownership of a business, leading to a divorce. (Montgomery County, MD).
- Family business owned by two brothers who disagree over the management and operation of the business, leading to an arbitration and related lawsuit in New England (with local counsel).
- Real estate business owned by a mother and daughter where the disagreement could not be resolved within the family and resulted in intense litigation. (Washington, D.C.)
- Resolution of challenges to estate plans in Fort Lauderdale, FL
